The group was formed after the 2018 TCAT Conference. We gather together monthly for a relaxing potluck dinner to share and discuss our dishes and recipes. One of our main goals is to provide support for each other as we transition to a healthier “PLANT-BASED” way of eating.
Each month we choose a topic to discuss that relates to the benefits of eating a vegan plant-based diet. Previous topics have included: the specific personal health benefits of a plant-based diet; How much protein do we really need?; the specific benefits on climate change and the environment; the effects on wildlife populations; how to feed our domestic pets a more environmentally friendly diet; food waste solutions; pain and suffering of food animals. In the future, we will bring in speakers and showcase movies on how our diet affects the world we live in. We would love to hear your perspective and ideas!
