On Nov. 7 2018, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) filed a request with the state Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) to increase rates for all electric and natural gas customer groups, effective March 7, 2019. This request updates Schedule 141 rates to recover utility operation costs PSE has made through June 30, 2018. The filing as originally submitted requests a total electric revenue increase of $18.9 million, or 0.9 percent, and a total increase in natural gas revenue of $21.7 million, or 2.7 percent. This filing also includes a request for a revision to PSE’s electric and gas Schedule 142 Revenue Decoupling Mechanisms. PSE describes this filing as an Expedited Rate Filing (ERF). The UTC has the authority to set final rates that may vary from PSE’s requests, which may either be higher or lower depending on the results of the UTC investigation.
