Taylor Kenyon and Scott Beason, who work in the Geology section at Mount Rainier National Park, will talk about how the Park is planning management of infrastructure (i.e. roads, trails, structures, and other facilities) as climate change alters precipitation patterns and stream flow.
Rain-on-snow events in past years have caused dramatic, sometimes catastrophic, damage to roads, trails, and campgrounds. It is likely that precipitation and snowpack conditions will change and incur more frequent problems.
Arrive at 7 p.m. to socialize; programs begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.
