Enterprise Services invites the public to comment on the scope of an environmental review for the Capitol Lake/Lower Deschutes Watershed Long-Term Management Project. Attend scoping meeting or visit online open house.
The Department of Enterprise Services (DES) manages the Capitol grounds and Capitol lake, and has opened up their online open house to give the public more information on the ongoing environmental impact statement process and allow for comments.
The comment period open now is to give recommendations on the scope of the study, or what people would like to see addressed and studied in the EIS. This period is open from September 26th to November 13th.
The purpose of scoping is to determine the range, or “scope” of issues to study, and is the first step in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process.
What to expect at the meeting:
- Space: We’ll have two separate rooms at each public meeting: one for the open house, and one for verbal public comment.
- Open House: Open house displays will replicate information available on this online open house. Please come any time between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
- Verbal Comments: Verbal comments will be facilitated from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and documented by a court reporter. We will use a lottery system to determine speakers. For protocol about verbal comments, go to: https://capitollakewatershedeis.participate.online/
